Innovation in Healthcare: LASALLE x SUTD x Changi General Hospital (CGH) 2025
January 2025
In a place where every second can mean the difference between life and death, how can arts managers play a role in saving lives? I had the opportunity to participate in the Innovation in Healthcare workshop, a collaborative initiative between LASALLE, Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), and Changi General Hospital (CGH). Over two intensive days, we explored real-world healthcare challenges, blending creative, design, and engineering perspectives to develop innovative solutions. I found myself questioning, learning, and ultimately discovering how empathy, technology, and art converge to tackle some of society’s most urgent problems.

Design-thinking process
-
Discover → tour around CGH, understanding the tools/softwares used and medical processes, gathering information
-
Define → what are the key problems faced by medical professionals?
-
Develop → creating the problem statement and exploring all sorts of potential solutions
-
Deliver → presenting our final idea in the form of an elevator pitch

I had the opportunity to work closely with a small team of four, made up of two students from LASALLE and two from SUTD. This blend of different backgrounds set the stage for a truly interdisciplinary collaboration, where creativity and technical expertise met.

Rock and Indie Festival (RIF) 2025
October 2024-February 2025
Established in 2017, RIF is an entirely student-led music festival staged annually in the heart of LASALLE. The festival aims to provide a platform for local musicians and small business owners to showcase their crafts. In an age of polished production, RIF25: (un)filtered hopes to highlight the raw, unfiltered creativity that defines today’s music scene. This year, RIF aims to amplify the voices of emerging artists who are pushing boundaries, crafting their own sounds and creating communities through their work. Volunteered as Content Creator for the festival's social media page.

Content planning process
-
Content Calendar → to efficiently set up key dates that needed promotional content
-
Brainstorming → a.k.a. doomscrolling with intention: to filter out current trending formats of content and editing styles to appeal to more audiences
-
Content management → communication with both artists and team members to work out timelines and filming days, as well as delegating roles for most effective content coverage.

Photo Exhibition - "Mirage"
January 2021
Mirage talks about the increased domestic violence happening during the pandemic and raising awareness about the issue at hand. A photo exhibition presented by my team as part of our assignment for the module "Exhibition Management".

Design process
-
Look and feel of the poster → Domestic violence represents negative emotions (abuse, anger, fear, suffocation) → Dark and gloomy background
-
It can happen to anyone → covered faces in the background
-
Domestic violence can hurt physically and mentally → Title of exhibition "Mirage" is broken font
-
Yellow texts to highlight key information of our exhibition

Strings are the main point of this zone "Manipulation" to represent how domestic violence is not always necessarily physical. Domestic violence can also bring psychological trauma through underhand tactics or indirect influence to take advantage of the victim. The colorful curtains and outlook creates a juxtaposition with the images to amplify the feeling of manipulation; positive on the outside but negative on the inside.

Verve: Tenacity 2020 - "Two-Faced Workshop" Lookbook and Magazine
December 2020
Verve is an annual arts festival organized by Year 2 students from the Diploma of Arts Business Management and this year we went virtual. Besides my departmental role in finance, I contributed greatly to the Verve x Lookbook for one of our workshops, "Two-Faced", which mainly focuses on Chinese Opera. I designed the content for both the Two-Faced workshop reflections by the participants as well as the overall lookbook magazine.

Design process
-
Referenced to popular fashion magazines such as Vogue and ELLE → strong fonts and colors to aid readability, and key content covered
-
Elements of photos behind the models → sneak peak preview of the photos in the look book
-
Red color scheme → in relation to Chinese Opera that red is a prosperous color
-
Traditional geometric borders → replicate the feel of Chinese culture

Skills: creativity, critical thinking, communication
Software: Photoshop, InDesign
YES! Factor 2020
July 2020
As part of Oh! Verve Drive (OVD) which aims to raise funds for our annual arts festival "Verve", my team and I hosted a talent competition open to all Ngee Ann Polytechnic students to realize and discover hidden gems and talents. I was the host of the show and also helped with the content creation for our Instagram page (@yesfactor2020).

Design process
-
YES! is amplified with the stretched font → positive exclamation since this is a talent competition show
-
High color contrast color scheme → On the look for hidden gems and talents

I wrote my own script for the premiere with the help of my groupmates to put together the videos and getting people to register for our competition.

GCE 'N' Level Art Examinations
2017
The chosen theme for Paper 1 was "Reclining", with the interpretation that we may still find sovereign peace in the midst of overwhelming emotions.

The chosen theme for Paper 2 was "Corners", with the interpretation that false ideas of culture among the community overshadows the reality of what truly is a cohesive, harmonious society.

Design process
-
Mind mapping → to expand on various definitions on the chosen theme
-
Studies on objects and subject matters → objects that represent different symbols or features, for example high tidal waves or tsunamis evokes an overwhelming sensation
-
Conceptual thinking → combining different subject matters to form a new meaning and new perspective
