PFP Committee (2018-2021)

Formed by Ngee Ann's School of Interdisciplinary Studies, we organize events catered towards PFP students (over 250-300 students yearly) such as orientation camps and the PFP Graduation Day.

I joined the PFP Committee in 2018 under the sub-committee recruitment drive and with my team of six members under the guidance of our seniors, our first event was the Annual General Meeting. It was also the event which I was the Overall In-charge of, which aims to congratulate the new incoming leaders and department heads and thank the outgoing and graduating members for their efforts.
In 2019, as our team was expanded and our seniors have stepped down, I was appointed as the Head of Logistics. My main roles and responsibilities include creating budget allocation sheets and managing logistics for all our events. I also had to guide my juniors so that I can pass on my role to them as I step down in 2021.
Being part of the PFP Committee has led me to grow to be a better leader that is open-minded, detail-oriented and to be able to communicate effectively with people of different personalities. I am more confident in everything I do and I hope that my efforts can inspire my juniors to do better than me.
NP Concert Band (2019-2020)

Having music and saxophone experience, I decided to join the concert band because I was interested in playing with a well-known polytechnic band. NP's concert band does have a very high standard and fortunately I was able to pass the audition to join the band.

Initially I was very intimidated by the taogeis on the music score and the seniors I had were very experienced with strong music foundation. This only motivated me to become better through practice. In 2019, I performed with my section for our CCA's concert "Retrovailles" to present each of the section's skills through music. My section performed "Peacherine Rag" and I played the alto saxophone for the performance.

Coming back to band was like coming home to a second family because everyone were especially friendly and trustworthy. I was able to talk comfortably with my seniors and batch mates, discussing about music or talking about our school work. Being part of band allowed me to foster bonds with people from different types of music backgrounds and working with each other like a close-knitted team to perform pieces in harmony and in tuned with each other.
NP Muay Thai CCA (2018-2020)

I joined NPMT because with an interest in martial arts, since it was not available in Secondary School. Besides keeping myself fit and learning the art of self-defense, I was able to expand my connections with people from different faculties and diplomas.

Participating in events such as the annual NPMT Bonding and Training Camp has improved my resilience in physical training and I was able to make friends through those sweat and tears.

In 2019, I joined the Bonding and Training Camp as a Student Leader as a Games Master. My responsibility besides facilitating the games between the teams also involved me to learn to be an effective communicator and always encouraging the teams to keep going. I also help to create conversations within teams to help break the ice between members to achieve the goals of the bonding camp.
